Errata for the puana Starlink release

• All architectures
  • If you use xoracdr, the location of Perl was not set. Before running xoracdr, set the ORAC_PERLBIN environment variable to /star/Perl/bin/perl.
  • A bug in DAOPHOT was identified that results in an error message stating "(1X,I5,' has a bad pixel:',F9.1,' at position',A1,2I5)". If you are experiencing this bug, download the patch for your platform: Linux 64-bit | Linux 32-bit glibc 2.3.4 | Linux 32-bit glibc 2.5 | OS X Intel | OS X PPC.

    When you unzip the patch, it will create a star/bin/daophot directory. Change into this directory, then issue the command cp * /star/bin/daophot to install the patch.

  • In DIPSO, if you issue the command "dev xwindows" you will get an error message stating "Enumeration type out of range -- the INTEGER passed as a GKS enumerated type is not within the range of valid values". This error message can be safely ignored.
  • In GAIA, if you select the menu item "View > Cut Levels", GAIA will crash and you will get an error message stating "X major ticks can't be -2147483647". To fix this, download this patch for BLT (3.3MB .tar.gz). When you unzip it, it will create a star/lib directory. Change into this directory, then issue the command cp -r * /star/lib to install the patch.
• PPC OS X
  • Various STARJAVA tools, such as TOPCAT and TREEVIEW, were missing from the Puana release. Download this patch (112MB .tar.gz) to get a new STARJAVA tree. When you unzip it, it will create a star/starjava directory. Change into this directory, then issue the command cp -r * /star/starjava to install the patch, overwriting any previously-existing files.
  • In DIPSO, if you issue the command "dev xwindows" you will get an error message stating "Enumeration type out of range -- the INTEGER passed as a GKS enumerated type is not within the range of valid values". This error message can be safely ignored.
  • Using NDF2FITS with ENCODING="FITS-WCS(CD)" may fail to create the proper CD matrix FITS headers for some ACSIS cubes. If this is the case, download this patch for AST (6.5MB .tar.gz). When you unzip it, it will create a star/lib directory. Change into this directory, then issue the command cp -r * /star/lib to install the patch.
