Previous: Removed Commands
The following applications have been modified:
- ARDGEN
-
- Re-written to use the PGPLOT graphics library.
- The output ARD file now contains WCS information.
- A new parameter called STYLE has been added to specify
the plotting style.
- The PALNUM and POICOL parameters have been removed. Use the
new STYLE parameter instead.
- Three new options have been added for Parameter OPTION:
"Undo" removes the changes in the list of regions produced by
the previous command; "Draw" draw the outline of the union of
a specified selection of regions; `style' allows the plotting
style to be changed.
- ARDMASK
-
- The COSYS parameter has been removed. Unless the ARD file
indicates otherwise, positions within the ARD file are now
assumed to be in the current Frame of the NDF. The ARD file
can contain COFRAME and WCS statements to indicate that
positions are given in some other co-ordinate Frame.
- COLLAPSE
-
- A bug has been fixed which caused unnecessary memory to be
allocated when ESTIMATOR="Mean", resulting in an error if insufficient
memory was available.
- CREFRAME
-
- Now produces an NDF data structure instead of an IMAGE
structure. The NDF may include a VARIANCE component.
- The Gaussian positions can now be saved in an output
positions list using the new Parameter OUTCAT.
- Parameter OUTPIC has been replaced by OUT.
- Parameter TYPED has been replaced by MODE.
- Parameter OTITLE has been replaced by TITLE.
- Parameter SCREEN has been replaced by QUIET.
- Parameter FILENAME has been replaced by LOGFILE.
- Parameter IDIMS, XDIM and YDIM have been replaced by
LBOUND, UBOUND and LIKE.
- Parameters BADROW and BADCOL are now INTEGER parameters
which specify the number of bad rows or columns to add, not
LOGICAL parameters.
- DISPLAY
-
- The colour table key can optionally now take the form of
coloured histogram of pen numbers, or graphs of RGB intensity
against data value. These new facilities are controlled using
the KEYSTYLE parameter.
- ELPROF
-
- A new parameter called ESTIMATOR has been added. It allows
the user to select the method to be used to calculate the
output pixel values. At the moment, it gives the choice of
a simple mean or a weighted mean, but other options may be
added in the future.
- LOOK
-
- LOOK has been completely re-written to support the full
features of the NDF data structure. All parameter names have
changed.
- The region to be listed can now be specified either by
centre and size, or by bounds, or by an ARD description. See the
new Parameter MODE. Positions should be supplied in the current
co-ordinate Frame of the NDF.
- The output listing can now be produced in several formats
(see the new Parameter FORMAT).
- The top-right pixel value in the listing is now written to a
new output Parameter, VALUE.
- LUTVIEW
-
- In addition to a colour ramp, LUTVIEW can now produce keys
in the form of a coloured histogram of pen numbers, or graphs
of RGB intensity against data value. These new facilities are
controlled using the STYLE parameter.
- NORMALIZE
-
- The MINPIX parameter now has a default of 2, making it
much less likely that bins will be rejected from the fit.
- PICCUR
-
- PICCUR should no longer be used to obtain co-ordinates from a
graphics device. CURSOR should be used for this purpose. The sole
purpose of PICCUR is to allow a new current picture to be selected
using a cursor. The position of the cursor is now reported in
millimetres from the bottom-left corner of the screen, but the
cursor positions cannot be saved.
- The Parameters COSYS, DOUBLE, LOGFILE and MODE have
been removed.
- New Parameters SINGLE and QUIET have been added.
- PICIN
-
- A new parameter called FRAME has been added to select the
co-ordinate Frame for which bounds are to be reported.
- The output parameters which were previously used to store
the bounds of the picture in device, raster and world
co-ordinates have been replaed with a single set of bounds
Parameters X1, X2, Y1, and Y2.
- An additional output Parameter DOMAIN has been added in
which is stored the Domain of the current co-ordinate system
associated with the picture.
- PICTRANS
-
- The Parameters COSYS, INXY, TOBASE, OUTX and OUTY have
been removed.
- Both the input and the output co-ordinate system can now
be specified, using the Parameters FRAMEIN and FRAMEOUT.
- The formatted input values are now obtained using Parameter
POSIN.
- The formatted output values are now written to the
Parameter POSOUT.
- There is now an option to supress screen output.
- PSF
-
- A new Parameter called PROFOUT has been added. It which allows
the displayed profile to be saved in a one-dimensional NDF.
- SETAXIS
-
- The MODE parameter can now take the new value "WCS",
which causes the AXIS centre values to be copied from the
corresponding axis of the current co-ordinate Frame in the
WCS component of the NDF.
- THRESH
-
- A bug has been fixed which could cause bad values in the output
to be treated as good values.
- WCSALIGN
-
- Can now be used with one-dimensional NDFs.
