Starting SMURF

Enable the SMURF environment by typing smurf at the shell prompt. The welcome message will appear as shown below:

        SMURF commands are now available -- (Version 1.0.0)

        Type smurfhelp for help on SMURF commands.
        Type 'showme sun258' to browse the hypertext documentation.

        NOTE, several applications have had major changes made to their
        parameter lists. See the 'Release Notes' section of SUN/258 for
        details.
This defines aliases for each SMURF command, gives a reminder of the help command and shows the version number. You can now use SMURF routines or ask for help.
